New Factory Completed in Omura City, Nagasaki Prefecture | Smart Factory Combining Design Excellence and Functionality Set to Begin Operations

Shinwa Controls Co., Ltd. announces the completion of its new factory in Omura City, Nagasaki Prefecture, and will hold a completion ceremony for invited guests and other stakeholders on October 8, 2026. Matsuo Construction Co., Ltd. was commissioned for the design and construction of the facility, with design supervision by Kengo Kuma & Associates and DAIKEN SEKKEI, INC. The completed facility combines outstanding design with functionality. The new facility has been named the “Nagasaki Factory” and is scheduled to commence full-scale operations in January 2027.

Features of the Nagasaki Factory

  • An exterior inspired by shells from Omura Bay and a warm, wood-accented entrance
The entrance, which serves as the face of the factory, features a distinctive silhouette created by two wall canopies inspired by shells from Omura Bay. The predominantly white exterior, wave-patterned cladding, and textured wall surfaces create delicate shadows, expressing the cleanliness and precision appropriate for a precision equipment factory. Inside, wood textures form the foundation of the design, complemented by accents in Shinwa Controls’ corporate red and lighting inspired by Omura City’s Kuromaru Odori dance, creating a warm space that also reflects the company’s identity and local character.

  • Open spaces overlooking Omura Bay
Open areas with expansive windows offering panoramic views of Omura Bay are located throughout the facility, providing an environment where employees can refresh both body and mind as part of their daily work.

  • Large, column-free production space with partition-free spans of up to 128 meters
The factory provides the capacity needed for high productivity and an environment optimized as a whole, enabling a rapid response to future growth in demand.

  • Unique meeting rooms incorporating the philosophy of the “Shinwa Compass”
The factory’s meeting rooms incorporate elements of the “Shinwa Compass,” the company’s management guidelines, with names and designs inspired by notable historical and public figures. These creative spaces are intended to encourage new ideas and communication.

  • Other highlights
A striking predominantly white exterior; a forest-like office with columns used as visual highlights; an employee cafeteria unified in earth tones; and a warm reception room featuring Nagasaki-grown hinoki cypress, among other features.

What the Nagasaki Factory Aims to Achieve
